EFFECT OF TRIANGLE SOLVER GAME ON SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS?ACHIEVEMENT IN TRIGONOMETRY

Albert Lylian Nkeiruka

Abstract This study sought to determine the effect of Triangle Solver Game on students? achievement in Trigonometry. Two research questions and three hypotheses guided the study. Pretest-posttest non-randomized experimental control group design was adopted for the study. The study was conducted in Agbani education zone of Enugu State. The population for the study was 1,945 senior secondary school two (SS2) students in eleven single sex secondary schools. A sample of 389 senior secondary school two (SS2) students was drawn from eight intact classes in two single sex secondary schools randomly drawn from the three Local Government Areas in Agbani Education Zone. Multistage sampling technique was adopted in the study. Instrument used for data collection was Trigonometry Achievement Test (TAT). The instrument was constructed by the researcher, face validated by three research experts and content validated through table of specification. TAT yielded a reliability coefficient of 0.98 obtained by Kudar-Richardson 20 formula. Research questions were answered using mean and standard deviation. Hypotheses were tested using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA). Major findings of the study showed that students taught trigonometry with Triangle Solver Game achieved higher than those taught with expository method.
