Abstract Mathematics is a compulsory subject at the secondary school level but the level of performance of students in the subject has remained a major source of worry to academics and other well meaning Nigerians. This study was conducted to determine the Use of Science-Technology-SocietyInstruction as effective instrument for desired change in Trigonometry performance among secondary school students in Nasarawa Education Zone Nasarawa State. The sample for the study consists of 206 students (113 male and 93 female) in the SSII level randomly selected from the population of 4965 students (3493 male and 1472 female) in twenty six Government Senior secondary schools. Research questions and hypotheses were formulated to guiide the study. Two schools were selected using simple random sampling techniques of which one is used for experimental group and the other for control group. Experimental group were exposed to Science-Technology-Society Instruction while control group were exposed to Conventional method. Trigonometry Concepts Performance Test (TCPT) items was used for both pre-test and post-test as the instrument for data collection, the data collected were analyzed using mean, standard deviation to answer research questions and t? test analysis each tested at 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that there is significant difference between the performance of students exposed to Science-Technology-Society Instruction and their counterpart exposed to Lecture Method in favour of experimental group. Hence the researcher recommended that use of Science-Technology-Society Instruction strategies should be adopted for teaching/learning of trigonometry concepts in the senior secondary schools, In-service training programmes for Mathematics Teachers in form of Workshops, Seminars and Conferences should be organised to focus more on how to use Science-Technology-Society Instruction in Teaching trigonometry concepts, among others. Keywords:Science-Technology-Society Instruction, Lecture, performance, Trigonometry students.
