Abstract This study investigated the effect of Class Wide Peer Tutoring on Interest in Algebra concepts among Secondary Schools in Kaduna State Nigeria. This study was guided by two research questions and two Null hypotheses. The researcher adopted quasi-experimental design with experimental and control groups because of its nature. A sample of three hundred and twenty two (322) SS II Students was drawn using a random sampling technique from a population of three thousand four hundred and fifty nine (3459) secondary school students in the study area. Four senior secondary schools were also selected out of 12 (twelve) public senior secondary school under Zaria Education Zone Kaduna State, Nigeria. Instrumentused was Student?s Algebra Concept Interest Questionnaire (SACIQ) for data collection. The reliability SACIQ was calculated using Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (PPMC) given as 0.76,. The research questions were answered by mean and standard deviation, mean rank and rank difference, while research Hypotheses were tested using Mann-Whitney at 0.05 level of significant by the aid of computer soft ware, SPSS. Research findings revealed significant differenceinterest levels between mathematics students taught algebra concepts using Class-wide Peer Tutoring Strategy and those taught the same concept using conventional methods. There was no significant difference in interest level of male and female students taught algebra. Therefore Class Wide Peer Tutoring is not gender bias. On the basis of the findings a number of recommendations were made for improving interest of Algebra concept and mathematics in general. One of the major recommendations is that the teaching of mathematics in general should be conducted in such a way that students should be actively involved in the learning processes, which enable them to see mathematics as part of their daily life activities and thereby enhance the students? interest and performance academically.
