Abstract This study investigated the effect of enriched expository method (EEM) on interest and performance in geometrical construction among Junior Secondary School (JSS) Students in Kaduna State, Nigeria. The study was guided by two research question and two null hypotheses. The study adopted a pre-test and post-test quasi-experimental design involving two groups (experimental and control). The population of the study comprised of JSS students of public school in Zaria Educational Zone of Kaduna State from which 251 students (experimental 136 and control 115) were selected using stratified random sampling approach. The experimental group was exposed to enriched expository method and control group was taught using conventional method. Two validated instruments tagged: Geometry Construction Performance Test (GCPT) and Geometry Construction Interest Inventory (GCII) with reliability indices of 0.73 and 0.83 were used. The hypotheses were analyzed using the t-test and Mann-Whitney U-test at P? 0.05 level of significance by aid of computer software Statistical Packages for Social Science (IBM SPSS version 21).The result obtained showed that students taught using the enriched expository method (EEM) outperformed the conventional group. In addition, it was observed that the EEM group had exhibited better interest level compared with the conventional group. The study concludes that the EEM is better than the conventional method at enhancing students? performance and interest for geometrical construction at the JSS level. It is recommend that mathematics teachers should use the EEM as a better option for teaching mathematics particularly geometrical construction. Also Government through the various state Ministries of Education (MOEs) and professional bodies such National Mathematical Centre (NMC) and Mathematics Association of Nigeria (MAN) should organized seminars, workshops and conferences to popularize the use of enriched expository method (EEM) in the teaching and learning of geometrical constructions at the JSS level.
