META ANALYSIS OF PEER ASSISTED LEARNING AMONG POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS IN LINEAR ALGEBRA

Muhammad Sani Abdurrahman

This study investigated the effectiveness of peer-assisted learning in a polytechnic linear algebra. A literature search was performed using prominent internet databases between 2002 and 2017. Eleven published articles fulfilled the review requirements set for incorporation. The small number of articles resulting from this search indicates that in recent years peer-assisted learning has not been investigated to a higher extent in linear algebra classroom. Results from the 11 articles showed that peer assisted learning is still an effective teaching resource among Polytechnic students. To enhance the knowledge of learners in linear algebra, the researcher proposes that: students should be guided with preliminary teaching skills; reduce teaching content covered in each session and more time should be allotted for each peer assisted learning session. Keywords: Meta-analysis, peer assisted learning, linear algebra, polytechnic students.
