PERCEPTION OF COLLEGE STUDENTS ON THE INFLUENCE OF MATHEMATICS EDUCATION ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS ACQUISITION IN KANO STATE, NIGERIA

The study investigated Perception of College Students on the Influence of Mathematics Education on Entrepreneurship Skills Acquisition in Kano State, Nigeria. The study has three objectives and three research questions. The population of the study consisted of one hundred and forty (140) students from which a sample of one hundred (100) students were randomly selected in accordance with Krejcie and Morgan (1970). The research design was a survey design and the instrument for data collection was a questionnaire adopted from Odumosu and Olusesan (2016) which has a reported reliability coefficient of 0.87. The study utilized simple frequency and percentage to analyze the data. The findings of the study revealed that mathematics education has a great role to play in the acquisition of entrepreneurship skills and the roles are necessary for a successful entrepreneurship and as well supported by all gender. The study concluded that success in entrepreneurship draw credence to the knowledge of mathematics. Keywords: Mathematics, Education, Mathematics Education, Entrepreneurship, Skills.
