Abstract Probabilities of misclassification and the associated probabilities in respect of log-normal distribution are studied for classification problems with two populations. In order to present the exact distribution associated with log-normal distribution, efforts are made in this paper to approximate the probabilities of misclassification by an easily computable asymptotic distribution.
