WEIGHTED COUPLED SYSTEM IN FAMILY OF ITERATIVE METHODS FOR NONLINEAR EQUATIONS

Abstract Nonlinear equations are commonly encountered in problems in applied sciences. Obtaining solutions to resultant nonlinear equations via analytic means are difficult or insoluble, hence the need for numerical approximations. In this paper, generic quadrature formula is used to proposed a weighted coupled system of equation, while decomposition technique is utilised to generate families of iterative methods for the solution of nonlinear equation that do not requires the execution of second or higher derivatives of the function f(x) , also the iterative process do not fail even if the derivativef^' (x) is almost zero or zero. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the efficiency and performance of methods proposed in this paper. Keywords: Quadrature formula, coupled systems, iterative scheme, decomposition method
