A CHEBYSHEV COLLOCATION BLOCK METHOD FOR SOLUTION OF THIRD ORDER INITIAL VALUE PROBLEMS IN ORDINARY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

Abstract This work focuses on formulation of a continuous scheme for the numerical solution of third order Initial value problems in ordinary differential equations. The collocation approach is adopted and Chebyshev is employed as basis function. An analysis of the method shows that the proposed method is zero-stable, consistent and hence convergent. On comparison, the method performed favourably compared with the existing ones.
