EXTENDED TWO POINT SUPER CLASS OF BLOCK BACKWARD DIFFERENTIATION FORMULA FOR SOLVING FIRST ORDER STIFF INITIAL VALUE PROBLEMS

A modification of an existing 2?point super class of block backward differentiation formula is presented. The formula developed computes two solution values per step and is suitable for solving stiff initial value problems. Analysis of the method shows that the method is both zero stable and A-stable. Different sets of test problems were solved and the performance of the method in terms of accuracy and computation time is compared with some existing methods.
